On many family cruise holidays, children get their own dedicated play areas, kids’ pools, and many dedicated fun activities ranging from face painting to treasure hunts and basketball to dancing lessons. On some family cruise ships there are even night crèches and pyjama parties, so parents can enjoy a romantic evening whilst the children are securely supervised. It is not just the youngest children who are looked after; teenagers have many activities with discos, games rooms, video arcades and activity clubs. There are many different types of ship. When looking for a family cruise, you must decide if you would like an older more traditional style cruise or a more modern ‘floating resort’. For the greatest amount of children's facilities, the new bigger cruise ships are hard to match when you are looking to keep the children occupied. If you choose to cruise with children, always check that that all facilities are available. Some ships only offer children's activities during school holidays.
